How I work

Therapy can feel like it comes with a rulebook: breathe deeply, meditate daily, journal every night. For a lot of people, that advice is well-meaning but doesn’t fit their actual life. Work, caring responsibilities, energy levels, and capacity all shape what’s realistic, and I don’t think good therapy should ask you to ignore that.

My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed, and draws on parts work, a way of understanding that we’re not just one fixed self but made up of different parts that show up depending on what we’re carrying: the part that keeps pushing through, the part that shuts down, the part still protecting you from something old. Rather than treating symptoms as problems to fix, this lens helps make sense of why they’re there in the first place, and what they’ve been trying to do for you.

I work with individuals, couples and families. Some people come in with a clear issue they want to work through. Others aren’t sure what’s wrong, only that something feels heavy or stuck. Both are a reasonable place to start.

My background

I hold a Master of Psychotherapy and Counselling and am a registered member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). Alongside private practice, I currently work as a school counsellor, supporting young people through emotional, behavioural and social challenges.

I have experience across mental health and advocacy services, crisis support, school counselling, corporate environments and organisational change, supporting individuals and families through crisis and complex life challenges.

My own experience living across different cultures and countries shapes how I work, and I try to bring a culturally aware, inclusive lens to every session, rather than a one-size-fits-all model of what healing should look like.

Working together

Sessions are available in person in Balmain on Saturdays, or online on Fridays and Saturdays. If you’re not sure where to start, that’s a normal place to be, and it’s exactly what a first conversation is for.
